That was how a reviewer from The Sun once described a book.
That book was my novel Dark Demon Rising
That was many years ago though and finding the book is now a rarity.
It’s funny though how technology can bring things back to life.
So I’m delighted to announce that Dark Demon Rising is now available as an ebook.
It’s available on Amazon’s Kindle. Just access the Kindle store!
You can get hold of a free sample too. It’s always good to try before you buy!
(Just click on the “Try It Free” box on the right hand side of the Kindle webpage)
This is my first novel (I only wrote two) and is about a guy called Shazral. He was terrorised by a demon as a boy as he was growing up in a small village. After his mother dies in mysteriously, Shazral leaves for the city and becomes a lawyer, forsaking his father and his home. When he returns to his dying father, he learn his “inheritance” is to follow his father, to become a shaman, to heal the sick and protect the village from the demon …
Oh yes, it was nominated for the 1999 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
I read in again recently and it brought back a lot of memories. It was a odd experience … distant, yet familiar. Like meeting a best friend whom you haven’t seen for many years. Or finding a long lost trinket whilst wandering in a cemetery at midnight! 🙂
I hope you do get to read it. Or as we Malaysians say, at least “try lah!”
