Just a quick post about a Creative Writing Workshop in conjunction with the MPH-Alliance Bank National Short Story Writing Competition.
We’ll use extracts from Juriah’s Song (not because it’s an example of particularly great writing but because I’ve got it readily available in soft copy!
). Through reading it we’ll discuss setting, character, dialogue, description, plot, ideas etc. You’ll also be doing your own writing and we’ll also have fun too.
Yes, you do need to register with MPH (not me) and so give them a call (details below) if you’re interested.
Date: 18 January 2009 (Sun)
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Venue: MPH Megastore 1Utama, Booker Room
Theme: How to Win a Writing Competition
Tunku Halim is back for another creative writing workshop in conjunction with The MPH-Alliance Bank National Short Story Prize 2009. Learn from the master of horror stories to get you started on writing. Limited seats available for participants age 13 years and above.

I was at your writing workshop yesterday, and had a great time! I finished Juriah’s Song last night, and really dug the Bomoh. Will pick up 44 Cemetry Road the next time I’m at MPH.
Thanks for holding the workshop, and recommending Juriah’s Song.
