ME? A FILM DIRECTOR?

July 21, 2007 · 17 Comments

If a picture is worth a hundred words, then surely a video is worth thousands!

My brother, he’s a musician and, a few years back, his band “Fishball” released an album called “Ghosts”. With nothing better to do, I went and did a music video for one of the songs. I also starred in it (well only my legs and my trusty gardening shoes!) The video was shot in Sydney and I used iMovie to edit. Whilst I’m pleased with the results, I don’t think I’ll switch to film directing!

If you like the song, you can download the album for FREE (click here)

Hope you like the MUSIC VIDEO (click here)!

you’ll never know… that music video could have been a very good indication…

How about directing a movie based on one of your books? You’ll never know, as Zewt said.

    Tunku Halim. Director.

Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think so? ;)

That’s a nice music video, minus the usual posing we see from some band members (of other bands). Is that ’snoozing’ picture of your brother? Wah, so cute. ;-) Liked the rustling leaves in the wind and the feet kicking the fallen leaves.

Zewt – Not sure if you liked the vid or not. I wish I could do something in film – but not time!

JT – I’d love to do a film even an episode from one of my tales. Would you like to star in it? :)

Kenny – Not a bad ring, my friend. Sounds better than Tunku Halim, Author?

Argus – Thanks for your kind comments. Hey so you like my bro, huh? Pity that photo was taken more than 20 years ago (but I’ll let him know anyway, hah!) . My legs and feet kicking those fallen leaves are quite cute too, huh? :)

I like the music video, particularly your play between the still pics and the moving pics and how you’ve created motion to the still pics. So cool lah.

I wouldn’t mind, actually. Ah! dreams of mine. :)
I did get an opportunity many years ago (about 20 years) in Malaysia but parents objected – studies first. That was the end of it.

Lyrical Serai – Hey thanks, glad you liked it!

JT – Wow, so you could have been a film star. Ah, never mind, let’s focus on writing.

Tunku, so much to do and so little time eh? But you are lucky – you are into everything. I directed shoot of a video clip recently – and it was so well edited – am so pleased, considering we are on different sides of the world.

I could have been but I don’t regret it. I prefer writing and still learning.

Kak Teh – I’d prefer to be a master of one! But in Malaysia, the arena is open for writers to do anything. We’re so lucky!

JT – There’s a saying: “Live as if it’s your last day. Learn as if you’ll live forever.”

The leaves are very pretty and oooh, I love the ending. The abandoned shoes. Haha.

    Band named fishball. Heh heh.

I have heard of a band named Fishbone.
Fishball is cute. <3 Who doesn’t love a good fishball? Haha.

Jai – The abandoned shoes can be quite poignant. Not sure what it means though! :) Fishball is yummy and easy to cook. How about a band called Char Kway Teow?

Paul – Yeah, I reckon my brother thought it was funny too.

True, that. Haha, something to ponder on, aye? Never heard of Char Kway Teow but it would be a most interesting… and strange name. And I will support them. Haha. :D Strange is always a compliment in my vocabulary.

Jai – I love strange, odd, weird and wicked!
